Tiffany’s Mathis bridal portraits were a knock out. We shot them at the same property as her engagement photos, which is a private ranch in Mathis Texas. We had fairly good weather but that doesn’t change the fact that we were running around a real ranch in a real wedding dress. We started shooting by the Spanish moss and then went to a field of wildflowers and finished down by the lake. The image she chose to display at her wedding was just down the hill from the wedding site. It makes me happy to see the lights in the house behind her where her wedding would take place just a few weeks later. Having engagement, bridals and wedding photos all taken on the same property is rare. However, I think it is a really cool collection of photos that flow together nicely and also have meaning for the bride, groom and their family. Wedding photos should be up soon so keep an eye out! 🙂
This is one of my favorite South Texas engagement sessions, taken in the small town of Refugio. Anna & Daniel originally wanted to take their engagement photos at Kyle Field in College Station but the stars did not align. Refugio is only about 45 minutes north of Corpus Christi and Highway 77 runs right through the middle of town. Anna & Daniel drove down from San Antonio and I drove up from Corpus. It was perfect. We had beautiful weather and took a few photos in town and then went out to the ranch to get some varied scenery. Although it was April, we had beautiful weather. It wasn’t too hot, we had nice clouds in the sky and we didn’t get eaten up by mosquitoes or chiggers. (Thanks Deep Woods OFF!) Anna and Daniel are getting married in October in Wimberley at Rio Bonito. I’m looking forward to a fun wedding with these two goofballs. #chocolatecake
Kayla & Jake are about to start their journey as husband and wife! This weekend I will be shooting their wedding in New Braunfels at The Gardens of Cranesbury View. A while back we spent the afternoon and evening running around downtown Austin taking engagement photos. The results were a colorful collection of engagement photos! We started at Zilker Botanical Gardens then went to Butler Park. After that, we popped across Barton Springs Road to take photos in front of some very colorful and fun murals painted on the side of a building. I loved seeing how in love with each other they are. They were energetic, sweet and fun, how could we have not ended up with some awesome engagement photos? Looking forward to seeing them again this weekend, I’m sure it is going to be a blast.
I am incredibly lucky when friends from way back hire me to shoot their wedding. Jessica and I went to college together and were both friends and sorority sisters. She is getting married in May but I had the pleasure of flying out to her home, Las Vegas Nevada, to shoot her engagement photos beforehand. This was my first time to meet her fiancee and it was a pleasure. I actually shot for several days, more a documentary style, to capture what life is like in their home right now on an ordinary day. It gave me the chance to get to know them as a couple and hang out with what turned out to be the coolest pack of dogs ever. (There were only 4 and a bossy cat, but still a pack…) Halfway through my visit we went out and took a traditional engagement session. I am in love with the entire collection but especially these images. I can’t wait to shoot their wedding coming up soon!
Mansion by the Sea is a great wedding venue and I love the images from this wedding! Jackie and Kyle had a gorgeous wedding on the water, with sand under their guests’ feet, and then a fun and relaxed reception just steps away. These sunset portraits were kinda awesome. Want a photo with a giant boat behind you? Done and done. PS – If you have a Mansion by the Sea wedding your guests can enjoy looking at… lemurs! Surprise!
