This Tarpon Inn wedding in Port Aransas was one of my favorites. The couple, the venue, the colors, the decorations…everything was on point. It was threatening to rain all day (without a great inside rain plan) but nobody was really worried and nothing ever came of it. The decorations and details were all made by the bride. She is super crafty, and she incorporated a lot of unique details into their day. Friends and family set everything up in the courtyard the day of the wedding. While the bride was getting ready  she could peak out the window or off the balcony and see how both the ceremony and reception site were coming along. All of the purple and gold flowers and decorations really popped off the green grass. The couple got married beneath a beautifully decorated arbor. After the ceremony the bride and groom drove down the street (with me!) to get some special wedding day portraits. It was a dramatic sky over beautiful blue water, but no rain! As soon as we had the photos we wanted we quickly returned to the Tarpon Inn for the reception. It was a great crowd, full of lots of love, and the food and dancing made it a great party in the cute and cozy Tarpon Inn courtyard!

Tiffany’s Mathis bridal portraits were a knock out. We shot them at the same property as her engagement photos, which is a private ranch in Mathis Texas. We had fairly good weather but that doesn’t change the fact that we were running around a real ranch in a real wedding dress. We started shooting by the Spanish moss and then went to a field of wildflowers and finished down by the lake. The image she chose to display at her wedding was just down the hill from the wedding site. It makes me happy to see the lights in the house behind her where her wedding would take place just a few weeks later. Having engagement, bridals and wedding photos all taken on the same property is rare. However, I think it is a really cool collection of photos that flow together nicely and also have meaning for the bride, groom and their family. Wedding photos should be up soon so keep an eye out! 🙂
